SMART GFVC AFRICA APPOINTS PROFESSOR XIAOSHUN QIN TO SPEARHEAD ECOSYSTEM GROWTH AND DRIVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA'S GLOBAL FASHION VALUE CHAIN

SMART GFVC AFRICA is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Xiaoshun Qin as its Ecosystem Director and Partner. With his exceptional background as a diplomat, industry expert, researcher, facilitator, and adjunct professor at the University of South Africa, Professor Qin will lead the development and management of our ecosystem, driving sustainable growth and strategic partnerships.
As Ecosystem Director, Professor Qin will develop and implement ecosystem strategies, build and manage partnerships, identify new business opportunities, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and ensure alignment and collaboration across teams and organizations. His leadership will be instrumental in achieving our ambitious objectives of creating 10,000 new impact-led brands and cooperatives and 4 million jobs for unemployed youth, rural and mining communities, and peri-urban communities by 2030.
Professor Xiaoshun Qin issued a call to action to investors and governments to partner with SMART GFVC Africa in revolutionizing the continent's fashion value chain. By harnessing the power of our cutting-edge, integrated, and comprehensive ecosystem model, we strive to transform value chains, foster impact-driven brands and commodities businesses, and empower marginalized communities, including youth, rural and peri-urban populations, women, and persons with disabilities.
With secure land partnerships, a proven and tested groundbreaking model, and research and skills transfer capacity from China and other BRICS countries, we are poised to build institutions and achieve national goals, making South Africa and Africa great again.
